Wet Laundry

Exhausted emotions drive irrationally
Pinging off dented shells and empty rooms
Echoing with the broken hands of time

A makeshift laundry mat
Constructed to remove the stains of
Heartache, misery, rejection and sorrow

Leaves puddles of distress
Rippling mirrors of distorted memories
Spotted with twisting rainbows

Colors light the murky waters
Mixing soap and dirt; smiles and tears
Interrupted by the solemn, constant dripping

Of wet socks.
